![]() At the beginning of every class, we have a mini-Music History lesson where we listen to some music, give our opinion of the music, and then discuss some of the elements we heard. I created a page to share all the amazing and influential African-American musicians we've been listening to and learning about. CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE I've included several videos and links to other pages where you can learn about the wonderful contributions these incredibly talented musicians have made to the world of music.
Check out the slideshow below to find out all the "need-to-know" info about Partee's Annual Winter Choral Concert.
![]() So now that I've gotten all of the "Back-to-school" stuff like seating charts, setting up my grade book, Class Dojo, AND the Wheel of Names for 29 different classes not to mention keeping track of grades, Class Dojo points, AND Lesson Plans for all those classes, I finally have had a chance to update the Music Room Website! Hallelujah!!! Go check out your Grade Level page up in the "For Students" tab in the menu to preview your music for our Winter Wonderland Concert. We'll be starting to learn all that music soon! In the next few weeks and months I'll be working to update a few of the other pages that haven't been updated in a VERY long time. There will be some new digital activities, games to play and I'm going to try and set up a page dedicated to our SQUILT Music so if you were absent or just want to listen to that song or piece again, you can! ![]() If you were supposed to have Music today, Thursday, January 18th, (or on the 17th or the 8th) you do need to hop on over to your eClass page and complete one of the Digital Learning Day Activities I posted for you. I will be popping in and out of eClass to see if anyone has left me a thread on the Composer Discussion board to respond to. Monday and Wednesday classes will still get to have Student Choice Day next week and then it's back to our regular routines. Last but not least, I'm also going to post another Video of the Week for you. You can watch the others I've posted (there are 7 of them already) by clicking HERE. Stay warm and enjoy your day! ![]() I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful snow we got last night and is staying warm as it's soooooo cold outside! If you were supposed to have Music today, Wednesday, January 17th, you do need to hop on over to your eClass page and complete one of the Digital Learning Day Activities I posted for you. I will popping in and out of eClass myself to see if anyone has left me a thread on the Composer Discussion board to respond to. We will get to have our Student Choice Day next week and then it's back to our regular routines. Last but not least, I'm also going to post another Video of the Week for you. ![]() Partee’s Annual Winter Wonderland Concert is just around the corner...Thursday, December 14th to be exact! We have been working very hard preparing our music and have a wonderful show ready to present to you. This year the concert will be held in the GYM in order to accommodate our ever growing crowd and allow for the students to also be part of the audience. ....................................................................................................................... Below is the important information you need to know if your child is planning on coming back on the evening of December 14th to participate in the concert.
![]() Alrighty my little music makers, I used our unexpected days off due to Hurricane Irma to finally get some of the new things we've been working on in the Music Room the past few weeks up on the website for you to practice. I'll be adding some of our Focused Listening music and videos as well as a practice video for 3rd thru 5th for our new challenging Body Percussion Routine soon. I'll let you know during class when those are up and posted. Until then, have fun practicing! ![]() I just wanted to take a quick moment to welcome everyone back for a new and exciting school year! For those of you that are new to Partee Elementary School, this website is the place to be to find out about all the latest goings-on in the Music Room as well as finding all the resources you need to practice your music and things we've learned in class. I'll be updating things for this school year over the next few weeks so be patient if what you're looking for is not quite ready yet or you're still seeing things from last year....there are only so many things I can get done in a day! For those of you that are returning students that are familiar with the site, you'll see that some items from previous years are currently or will no longer be available...sorry about that. It just keeps the navigation of the site cleaner. I will try to create an "Archive" section for all the songs and fun activities we've done in the past but for right now I need to finish updating all the areas that haven't had any attention in awhile. I am looking forward to this being a GREAT year (it's #12 for me at Partee and #22 overall!!! WOW!) and hope that it will be one of the best yet! I hope to see ya back here soon! |
