Who is Ms. Breland?
Hi there! I'm Erin Breland (aka Miss Brilling), the music specialist here at Partee Elementary. I began teaching at Partee in 2006 and am looking forward to another GREAT year!
A little bit about my musical background...
I began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and started playing the violin at age 10 through my elementary school’s orchestra program. I continued my music studies all the way through high school and ended up majoring in music education at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. Upon graduating, I came back to my hometown of Woodbridge, Va. to teach at my former high school. In the 4 years I was there, I directed several choirs as well as taught class piano and music theory. When I moved back to the Atlanta area, I began a private music studio which I maintained for 7 years. I taught private lessons in piano, voice, violin, and guitar to students ranging in age from 4 yrs. to adults. I had always wanted to teach elementary school music and was thrilled when the opportunity to teach at Partee came about.
In 2012, I was selected by my peers to represent Partee as the Local School Teacher of the Year! It was quite an honor to be singled out and recognized among all the other amazing teachers here at Partee. I felt truly blessed!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dogs. Brinkley and Harper. I love designing and making jewelry, working in my yard, and daydreaming about my next home improvement project.
I have high expectations for all of my students and strive to give them a rounded musical education, covering all styles and aspects of music.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions regarding your child's music education here at Partee.
